Our beginnings

Calm Cove Oyster Co. began with a cinderblock oyster house built by Duane’s father in 1946.

Equal parts workshop and symbol of our family's dedication to the craft. Our farm sits on just two acres of historic tidelands in Totten Inlet, WA but its story spans generations. What started as a small-scale operation has become a way of life—one we continue to build with every tide.

our Totten Inlet Roots

Totten Inlet is more than a location—it’s our home, our teacher, and the source of everything we grow.

These rich, protected waters shape the flavor of our oysters and remind us daily how connected we are to the rhythms of the Sound.

Early Days of the Oyster House

It all started with a small stretch of tideland, a cement-block oyster house, and a father who believed in doing things the right way.

Our farm grew from weekends on the water to a multi-generational labor of love—fueled by boots in the mud, marine biology degrees, and a shared love for the inlet that raised us.
